Spring Wedding Favours

By Emily Tanner

Choosing the perfect wedding favours for your forthcoming spring wedding is an exciting part of your wedding planning. Here we talk about some tangible ways in which you can create the perfect look for your wedding reception tables.

The best advice anyone can offer a spring bride is to take her inspiration from seasonal items that one would naturally associate with this time of year. In other words, think of springtime flowers such as tulips, daffodils and crocuses. Ensure your bouquet is bursting with seasonal blooms and you can also encompass these flowers in your favours. Bunches of dried seasonal flowers tied with pretty ribbons are pertinent to this time of year and a great way to bring a sense of springtime to your reception tables. Equally, seeds are the epitome of spring and so personalised seed kits make fantastic favours too.

At this time of year, we also think about Easter-time and using this seasonal celebration as a theme for your wedding is a great idea. Presenting guests with chocolate eggs in raffia nests make for unusual yet delicious favours or alternatively mini bonnets could be filled with pastel coloured sweets for an Eastertide feel. Fruit filled meringue nests also make for a great dessert idea too if you wish to continue the theme in your seasonal menu.

Alternatively, you can make your wedding theme seasonal but in a more subtle way by introducing soft pastel colours to your invitations, place cards, napkins and favours. When we think of spring, we think of soft greens, lilacs, pinks and yellow tones and by using these colours, the seasonal feel can be easily brought to your table tops. Lovely lilac favour boxes can be filled with co-ordinating confectionery or you could give guests little treats contained within spring tulip mini gift bags.

If you are opting for a softer more natural feel, the suggestion of spring can be introduced to your decor through favours that have an organic twist. Take your inspiration from favours that are made of wood, bamboo, linen or cotton. The organic feel of your reception tables can be continued through place settings by painting guests' names on soft pebbles; this is also a cost effective way to undertake your table plan.

So, whether you are having an event strongly influenced by Easter or you want your theme to be more subtle, remember to take your inspiration from seasonal items such as flowers that may be in bloom. Not only will this give you some great ideas for spring wedding favours but by choosing seasonal items to compliment your tables, you will be able to keep an eye on your budget.
